We have flights and have reserved our personal time in St. Barth April 9th - 27th, 07 This is a long spring break but we need it. Have been working and playing very hard and need some Fun in the Sun to recharge Batteries. Feb. 13th - March 1st, 2007 we are off to the USA. Britton will be working in his Dad's office, needs to earn some money as he wants - needs a new computer for his gaming. Vanette will be off to Mardi Gras in New Orleans Feb. 17 - 22nd then back to Florida for a few days visit with family. We will return to St. Jean de Luz on the 1st as Britton is scheduled to get his lower braces put on March 2nd..... School restarts on the 6th... So we are book, packed and ready to go.
December 19th - January 5th we spent the holidays in St. Jean de Luz, It was a very nice holiday with family and all that the village has to offer. October 19th - 26th, 2007 Vanette was at the villa Top of Nice in the Cote d'Azur. This is an exceptional villa overlooking the city of Nice and the Mediterranean. The web site for this villa is www.frencholiday.net It was a great holiday. June 21st to September 3rd we were in the USA and St. Barth. We had one exchange this summer in Reddington Beach that was very interesting. We exchanged with a lovely couple Lea and Stanley for their beach condo and they visited our flat in St. Jean de Luz. We used their place for long weekend visits in July. It was fun but they only had one bedroom which was difficult, we are 3 and someone had to sleep on the floor. Won't do that again. Britton is now 13 and needs his own space. We were in St. Barth at La Belle Aurore for all of August, it was nice to be back on the island after being in France for 3 years it was a good break. I will post some photos after we get settled back in France and I find my jump drive. April 2006 we were back in the USA at our home in Saddlebrook. We had a great time visiting family and friends. Vanette even had her first face lift! Yes getting ready to turn 50 and had to make a last ditch attempt to still look 35. Britton enjoyed the holiday working in his Dad office. Always needs to have some extra cash. February 4th, 2006 we headed off on a road trip from St. Jean de Luz to 2 Alps ski resort . It was a really long road trip took us a little over 12 hours. Wont do that again! We have exchanged with Sabine and her family who will be staying at our place in St. Jean de Luz this summer. Happy to be finally skiing in the Alps we have reaffirmed our ski equipment and enrolled in ski school. Sabines apartment is cozy and efficient. Britton was off to ski on the 5th and every day until we left early on the 10th. It was really cold and lots of snow on the ground. We took a trip in a bull dozer up to the very top of the alps and visited an ice palace on the glacier. On the way home we stopped over night in Carsassone which is a lovely castle village about half way. We discovered a family name were residents in the Carsassone area above 900 years ago Senegal. We discovered that this family name were part of the royal courts and served as guards. Dan's great grand mother was a Senegal and spoke only French.
December 14th - January 1st, 2006 We were in Florida for the Christmas Holiday. It was lots of fun with family and friends. Photo below is George, April, Van, June Vanette and Britton. Grandpa Van was the star of a choir concert Dec. 17th, 2005. We had a great time and returned to St. Jean de Luz very tired after either attending or giving a dinner party each of the 17 nights we were in Florida except for 3.
October 25th, 2005 we returned to St. Jean de Luz after a 6 day trip to Paris where we stayed at Laurence Trodjmans apartment. The apartment was nice, but on the "4th" floor US standards on thin stairs. The location was fabulous with a market and shopping just outside on the Champs de Elise. We visited Versailles, the Louver and the Eiffel tower plus went to great places to eat and shopping.
September 3rd, 2005 - We have returned to St. Jean de Luz, France after a long summer traveling in the US and St. Barth. Van and June visited Marco Island where they had a great time with friends Joree and Nelson. The McGrane family all went to St. Barth for three weeks working on maintenance projects where Grandpa Tom got into LOTS of trouble. The McGrane family visited Charleston where a great family get together was held for a week. Then for the last half of August we rested in Saddlebrook shopping for the return to St. Jean de Luz. We had no travel difficulties and enjoyed our summer. We are happy to be back in St. Jean de Luz and looking forward to our school year and starting the construction in Marquet Meyems. Vanette June 10th, 2005 Our summer is planned and tickets purchased. We have a great summer organized with lots of time with family and friends. The schedule is: June 22nd - Fly from Biarritz to Tampa on Delta. We meet in Paris with Zach who will fly with us to Tampa June 24th - July 5th Marco Island at the Old Marco Inn with Britton, Zach, Van, June and Vanette July 7th - 11th Vanette will go to NYC for a weekend of Mommy time..... July 13th, 2005 Vanette is off to St. Barth. Britton will stay with Grannie Annie for a few days July 19th - August 7th - Dan, Britton, Tom and Anna are off to St. Barth to join Vanette August 11th - We are off to the Blue Ridge Mountains - Van, June, Britton and possibly April August 20th - 27th - Charleston SC with Virginia, Nichole, Caroline, Anna and Vanette + Britton August 31st we fly from Tampa to Biarritz and back to school on September 2nd, 2005 Then on August 10th we will depart on a road trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains where we will stay in the Self's lovely Hill Home you can see our plans on Where to Next The Self's will stay in St. Barth September 18th - 27th, 2005 On August 19th we will either return to Saddlebrook to go shopping and pack for our trip back to France or we will take one last week of Holiday in Charleston, SC where we will stay in the lovely Cates home. Our summer is planed, airline flights to the USA booked and exchanges in the process of being negotiated. When not at an exchange friends home we will be at Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis resort our home in North Tampa. We are happy to have such great exchange friends and look forward to a fun filled summer. Spring Break 2005: We leave for St. Barths on April 20th and will be enjoying our fun in the sun Villa La Belle Aurore until we must drag ourselves back to school on May 11th, 2005 This is an extended spring break for Britton and we hope to make the most of it. We will be at La Belle Aurore soaking up that French Caribbean Sun. Our winter holiday February 18th - March 7th we are visiting two countries. We are very happy to announce that we have confirmed our trip to Berlin. We have coordinated an exchange with Jorg Starke to visit his lovely historic home in Berlin. We will arrive into Berlin on Feb. 18th and stay until March 6th, 2005. During the stay we have planned a road trip to Prague where we will stay in the city center in an apartment owned by Martin Urman where we will visit the city of Prague. This was a fabulous trip full of history and adventure. 2004 Summer of 2004 we traveled from St Jean de Luz France to our home in Florida where we stayed for a few weeks before going to a lovely home in St. Simon Island Georgia. We returned to Saddlebrook in Florida just in time to prepare for the 4 hurricanes which inundated the state. We left Florida in August for our home in St. Barthelemy where we enjoyed the sun and surf before returning to St. Jean de Luz for the start of the school year. September 2004 We are in the process of purchasing a French Country Estate in Castellion which is about 2 hrs drive from St. Jean de Luz. The region is beautiful with rolling hills, wine country with lots of horses and bull fights. Look for this property as it develops. Meeting with the architect for final plans on April 1st with construction to start thereafter..... We went to London October 26th for 5 days. Had a wonderful time shopping and visiting London. We stayed at 30 Stratford Road a wonderful flat owned by our friend and exchange partner M. Pearl. This home is also in our Bank. The flat and London are fantastic. For Christmas and New Year 2004-5 we are staying in France where we will be celebrated Christmas with a Santa visit. We will be going to Castellion Debt after Christmas to do some development work on our Country Estate. This was a fun family holiday.
